Not that I watch the show, but why are they calling Mike & Molly “The New Mike & Molly“? Recasts, maybe? –Brandy
Recasts? You’re funny. (Not that you watch the show, wink-wink, nudge-nudge.) No, it’s the same cast, but one could argue that events of the season premiere steer the sitcom in a new direction – and it’s a sort of hard left turn, in my opinion. (Not that I watch the show.) And for those emailing about the babymaking storyline from Season 2, yes, that thread is touched upon in the premiere.
Melissa McCarthy’s ELLE magazine cover, where she is seen covered in a coat, raised some eyebrows with many suggesting the mag was attempting to hide the curvy actress’ physique – but the star tells Access Hollywood otherwise.
The 43-year-old actress appears on the mag’s “Women in Hollywood” issue, draped in a charcoal Marina Rinaldi coat – something she told Access that she selected!
“I think they are crazy,” she said at the ELLE Celebrates 20th Annual Women In Hollywood Event on Monday, when asked about the backlash surrounding the cover.
In fact, the actress made the decision to sport the coat on the cover.
“I had a great dress on. I’m the one who grabbed the coat!” “The Heat” star explained.
Adding, “I loved my cover, I feel in love with that coat.”
Melissa and Mike and Molly are up nominations for People’s Choice –
I’ve updated the Melissa McCarthy Source Gallery with the scan of the Elle cover.
The gang is back together! Mike & Molly star Melissa McCarthy, her husband, actor-writer Ben Falcone, and fellow actor Larry Dorf, have sold a third consecutive comedy project, this time at Fox. The untitled single-camera comedy, written/executive produced by Dorf and exec produced by McCarthy and Falcone, centers on two mismatched guys who become stepbrothers when their parents get married. Mike & Molly studio Warner Bros. TV, which was also behind the trio’s previous efforts, is producing. McCarthy, Falcone and Dorf sold their first comedy project in 2011 when the half-hour penned by Falcone and Dorf was picked up to pilot by CBS. The trio was back at CBS last year with another multi-camera comedy co-written by Falcone and Dorf. McCarthy and Falcone are repped by CAA and The Schiff Co.; Dorf is with Paradigm and Odenkirk Provissiero.
